POLICE locked down the Bemerton estate on Sunday morning after reports of a shooting.

Officers were called to Twyford Street, off Caledonian Road, at 9am. They closed the road for eight hours as forensic officers examined the scene.

Scotland Yard said that at the time officers attended the street was empty, and there were no reports of anyone being injured. The investigation continues.
