• I WAS kind of amused to see your front-page item regarding the girl shouting into her megaphone that she will not take off her hijab, (Schoolgirl’s cry of defiance, April 6).

Who is this “protest” aimed at? The protester should look around. She will see loads of women wearing hijabs. She is living in a free country for which she should be grateful.

I doubt that this protester would find any irony in the fact that two women now languish in prison in Iran for removing their hijabs in public.
