COME on, you Gunners!

Pubs across Islington are preparing for a “hectic” Sunday as Arsenal face Manchester City in the “game of the season”.

The club are playing their rival league frontrunners in a tie that experts are saying will be pivotal in deciding this season’s Premier League title race. Ali Nasir, 20, a bartender in The Highbury Barn Tavern in Highbury Park, said they were fully booked and expecting up to 300 fellow Gooners.

“It’s passionate,” said Mr Nasir of the atmosphere on match days. “It’s electric. There’s so many people chanting. When someone starts to chant everyone follows up, screaming at the top of their lungs showing their support.”

The Arsenal fan added: “If they win this game I feel like they’ve got a good chance of winning the league.”

Meanwhile, Saoirse McDonogh, manager of The Twelve Pins in Finsbury Park said they expected a busy one but described it as unpredictable due to Easter weekend. “People are in here now with suitcases,” she said yesterday (Thursday).
