ANYONE in the market for Christmas table decorations this season should keep an eye out for Angel Crackers, handmade by volunteers and now available to buy at businesses around Islington.
All proceeds will go to local groups fighting loneliness, including Mother2Mother, a project run by Islington Mind, that supports isolated female caregivers.
Each cracker includes a Christmas tea bag, a fact about Angel and a novelty item from Upper Street’s homeware and gift shop After Noah, so your festive guests could win anything from a Guatemalan worry doll to a rainbow egg eraser and, of course, a traditional paper hat.
There are also 100 “golden tickets” smattered across all the crackers, including free tickets to the King’s Head Theatre and two hours of free karaoke for six at Lucky Voice.
The crackers have been supported by Islington Giving, Angel Islington BID, the Business Design Centre and sponsors Tishman Speyer. Crackers are £5 each (£30 for a box of six).
