WORMS and spiders were just some of the highlights for nine Reception children from Thornhill Primary School when they visited Barnsbury Square Gardens on Friday to help the community get plants ready for spring.

Claire Curtis, a higher level teaching assistant in early years at the Thornhhill Road school, accompanied the children when they joined the Friends of Barnsbury Square.

She said: “They worked really hard to put the soil improver around the roots to get them ready for the spring and summer. There were lots of worms and spiders – they loved it. They’re Reception so they love looking for insects and bugs.”
