Gary the snake

Wanted: Gary’s owner [Metropolitan Police]

ARE you the owner of Gary the snake?

The pet ball python was found slithering its way around a residential garden in St John’s Way, Archway.

Police officers were called to capture the serpent, which they named Gary, and have launched an appeal to find his owner.

Police have assured the Tribune that he’s being well taken care of until his owners come forward.

The RSPCA issued a warning at the start of this summer saying that warmer weather makes snakes more likely to try and escape from homes.

“Another reason why more snakes escape in the summer is that some owners take them outside to take advantage of the natural sunlight,” the charity added.

“While sunlight is good for reptiles, the RSPCA urges owners to ensure that their pet is kept secure when doing so, as they can warm up and move very quickly on a sunny day.”

If you know Gary, call 101 with reference CAD7068/10Aug.
