Remembrance events coming up
Islington to pay respects to those who lost their lives during World Wars and other conflicts

ISLINGTON will commemorate those who served and sacrificed during the World Wars and other conflicts with Remembrance Day next week.
If you’d like to pay your respects to those who lost their lives, here are some of the Remembrance events you can get involved with this weekend:
SUNDAY NOVEMBER 10
9.30am: Parade and service of remembrance, which will include a wreath-laying ceremony. Starts at Highbury Fields and will progress down Upper Street to Islington Green War Memorial where an inter-faith service of remembrance will begin at 10.45am
12pm: Service by war memorial in Spa Green Garden, 173 Rosebery Avenue, EC1R 4TY
1.30pm: Community event in the Royal Northern Gardens, 6 Manor Gardens, N7 6LA
MONDAY NOVEMBER 11
10.55am: Service and unveiling of Veterans Aware plaque in the atrium at the Whittington Hospital, Magdala Avenue, N19 5NF
12.35pm: Laying of wreath – King’s Cross LNER Mainline Station Concourse
Councillor Marian Spall, Armed Forces Champion for Islington Council, added: “Every year, residents of Islington continue to show how meaningful Remembrance Sunday is for them, the wider community and for our veterans and Armed Forces.
“Please join me in paying respects to the many selfless servicemen and women who gave their lives for our freedom today.”
