• I WAS very interested to read Cllr Diarmaid Ward’s remarks that the council “pledge to replace more trees than are removed”, (Campaigners sleep in trees facing the chop, October 9).

We’ve lost six mature trees in Hanley Road in the past 10 years and are still waiting for them to be replaced.
