Finsbury Park Singers and Camden Voices come together at St James’ Church

TWO choirs joined forces in a concert and raised funds for a charity that teaches adults how to read.

Finsbury Park Singers and Camden Voices collected £1,117 for Read Easy, a national charity that offers free reading coaching to adults. They performed in a joint concert entitled “The Road Home” at St James’ Church on March 31.

Hannah Brine, Finsbury Park Singers’ founder and conductor, said: “I was very moved by the whole thing. To me, this is everything that community music can and should be: people excelling musically and having this great community spirit.”

Camden Voices is a contemporary ensemble and is conducted by Ed Blunt.

Finsbury Park Singers, a community choir, regularly hosts concerts supporting charities.

Ms Brine added: “We have an opportunity as a community choir.

“The focus is on bringing people together and inclusivity. It’s good we can help raise the profile and shine a light on different charities each time.”
