Wilson the budgie

A BUDGIE that went missing for more than a week has now been reunited with her owners – but there was little cause for celebration as the pet died shortly afterwards.

Wilson returned home but according to owners was extremely lethargic and refusing food. Anj Jahan, 28, told the Tribune how her beloved budgie had escaped from her York Way home by flying through a conservatory window last week.

A search by residents across Islington led to Wilson being captured in Tufnell Park Playing fields, but she quickly escaped again.

However, the budgie was later brought into a pet shop near Tufnell Park where her owners collected her. They cared for the bird until her passing.
