Save World War II graves for the nation
Friday, 22nd September 2017
• I THOUGHT readers should know that, starting in December, Manor Park Cemetery, in Forest Gate, will be preparing to re-use graves of civilian dead from World War II.
These include victims of the Columbia Market air shelter disaster on the first day of the Blitz. Also in the designated section is the grave of Jack the Ripper victim Annie Chapman.
Should these graves not be a national memorial, as are those of military personnel?
