Sewer polio: Booster jabs for young children

Friday, 2nd September 2022 — By Anna Lamche

ALL children under the age of 10 are being encouraged to get their polio booster jabs after a strain of the polio virus capable of causing paralysis in unvaccinated children was discovered in Islington’s sewer systems last month.

Jabs are being offered to children who are aged six to nine on a walk-in basis at Hornsey Central Health Centre in Park Road between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Friday.
