‘The law of nature’

• SO, Larysa Switlyk states that she is a “hardcore huntress” who presents killed animals on her television programme for our “enjoyment”.

Many years ago while living in Italy I experienced a like-minded hunter. He proudly showed me his latest kill – a robin redbreast. I was mad with rage and demanded an explanation. He declared it was “the law of nature”.

I grabbed his shotgun and told him I would give him a five-minute start then I would hunt him. He was shocked when I said it was “the law of nature”. He learned fast and declined my offer.
