Show you care about disabled people, stick to the rules

• THIS week Jeremy Corbyn accused the government of not caring enough for people with disabilities.
Perhaps he should be questioning his own council on their treatment of disabled people. Islington Council is ignoring the requirements of the NHS, CQC and NICE in its plan for a residence for people with learning disabilities and/or autism in Windsor Street.
In order to properly safeguard and create the most supportive environment the rules state that no more than six people should be housed together, whereas the council wants to double this.
Mr Corbyn is right to question the government on its treatment of the disabled, but maybe it would be more credible if he ensured that his own council kept to the rules and demonstrated that it really cares.
