Showing the way to links with Islam
Highbury Fields has a special place in the heart of pioneering Muslim tour guide

THE first professionally qualified Muslim tour guide, AbdulMaalik Tailor, is running a guided tour of Highbury Fields to talk about the links between Islam, nature, and protecting our environment.
The park has a special place in Mr Tailor’s heart. He visited it often as a child and remembers his mum learning to drive on the roads surrounding it.
The tour is part of a series of events for Islamophobia Awareness Month, and is open to anyone from any faith.
The walk takes place on Sunday at 2pm and starts at the Boer War Memorial Statue at the corner of Highbury Place and Highbury Crescent.
After the walk, a room has been set aside at Highbury Leisure Centre for those who wish to pray.
