Sir Keir on press freedom – what about Assange?
Friday, 11th November 2022
• GREAT piece over three columns by free speech warrior in Islington Tribune, November 4, page nine, if anyone missed it.
Some might struggle to reconcile it with seeking to lodge Tom Watson in the House of Lords; the same Tom Watson who took over £500,000 from the late Max Mosley – certainly no friend of the press.
For clarity, brevity, and relevance, Sir Keir Starmer might instead raise a question at PMQs asking why journalist Julian Assange is still confined in His Majesty’s Prison Belmarsh under threat of extradition to the United States.
