So just how will I leave Barnsbury?

• THERE is no benefit to closing roads except the council receiving millions of pounds through fines; the money which is supposed to be spent on roads but obviously not, as they are full of potholes and filthy with rubbish, weeds and dog excrement.
It was bad enough implementing LTNs, low traffic neighbourhoods, in Canonbury and making vehicles drive to the badly-designed Highbury Corner where the traffic backs up to past the town hall; traffic lights out of sequence; no yellow box from Canonbury; and you cannot even turn left from Canonbury. Why?
You have to drive up Holloway Road to get back to Barnsbury, causing more traffic jams. Then Highbury, which backs all the traffic along Highbury Grove, then in the middle of Cross Street.
What are they trying to achieve? Not being able to drive out of Islington without being stuck in stationary traffic, is causing more pollution and is mentally exhausting.
Now the Barnsbury & Laycock proposal is soul- destroying. How do I leave Barnsbury and drive to Hackney via Highbury Corner?
Every road going east to Upper Street will be closed, so I have to drive up to the end of Liverpool Road and down Holloway Road, which again has traffic jams.
Plus roads off Liverpool Road going east… or drive to White Lion Street where there is only space for one car going one way in a two-way road!
Liverpool Road, Caledonian Road and Copenhagen Street will be constantly blocked with traffic causing more pollution.
Roads were built for transportation and they have no right to close them. People walk on pavements so are safe.
But there are 20mph limits and badly designed road humps, and too narrow width restrictions.
People should sign this, petition if they agree with my statement.
