THE mother of a young man who was stabbed to death made a plea at a special event in the Old Bailey this week for young people to think before picking up a knife.

Jessica Plummer, from Finsbury Park, whose son Shaquan Sammy-Plummer was murdered in Enfield in 2015, told a group of young people to “think before you pick up that knife, because your life will be ended by it too”.

She added: “Without you, we cannot help you. Choose life, not a knife. Be a leader, not a follower.”
