Step in right direction

• IN a promising step for the campaign for step-free access at Crouch Hill station, Transport for London has responded to a letter from councillors and MP Jeremy Corbyn, pledging to consider the case for nominating the station for accessibility works.

TfL states that its ultimate goal would be for every station in London to have step-free access. As Tollington ward councillors we welcome this commitment, and will continue to campaign for Crouch Hill to be next on the list.

This campaign was started in response to concerns from residents. We will be collecting petition signatures to further demonstrate the strength of local feeling, calling on TfL and the Department for Transport to deliver step-free access.

We believe that every resident should be able to access public transport, and as community champions for Tollington we are continuing our campaign with residents for a Crouch Hill station that’s step-free and accessible for all.

Tribune readers can find the petition online at www.islington-labour.org.uk/campaigns.
