Stephanie and Dan Crawford

Stephanie and Dan Crawford

• I ENJOYED reading your article on the 50th anniversary of the King’s Head pub theatre, (50 years of pulling pints and pulling in audiences, February 18).

But I wish to point out an error in your article.

I noticed that the photograph (see above), accompanying your article, of the founder of the King’s Head theatre, Dan Crawford, pictured with his wife, Stephanie Sinclaire, incorrectly referred to Stephanie as Samantha.

Incredibly sadly, Stephanie passed away last year. This coming February 28 would have been her 68th birthday.

After the death of her husband, Stephanie ran the theatre for many years, supporting a whole host of actors, writers, directors and other artists, many of whom were given their first breaks by Stephanie.

She is sorely missed by those of us who were witness to her wonderful generosity and spirit.
