Stop taking the Liverpool Road posters

Friday, 20th October 2023

• WITH the ongoing consultation for the changes ahead concerning road use for Islington, there has been a spate of unlawful removal of residents’ objections up and down the length of Liverpool Road.

Many residents who are opposed to the council’s plans have been displaying posters and information on their private property, that is, windows on to the street and private railings, and someone has been coming along and removing them.

Mine was removed overnight from my front window which faces on to Liverpool Road, and this is happening daily all down the street.

As a group of residents who will be directly affectedly by these plans, we are acutely aware that many of Islington’s residents have no idea of the proposed changes, and with only one council information board between Richmond Avenue and the Angel, we feel it’s our duty to try to raise that awareness before the pitifully short consultation period ends on Sunday.

This cowardly act of vandalism is deeply irritating, and we would very much like anyone removing items from our personal property to stop.
