Stop the axe falling on the No 4 route

Friday, 10th June

• I AM dismayed and disappointed that Transport for London are considering axing the No 4 bus route among its planned 78 bus route changes which are currently being consulted on, (New routes: jobs fear for bus drivers, June 10).

This is a vital route for many of us living in Islington, providing direct access to the Whittington and Bart’s hospitals, Archway and the Holloway Road and to the City and Blackfriars.

At a time when we are all being encouraged to leave our cars at home and use public transport it seems counter intuitive to consider axing such a vital bus route.

I urge readers to contact TfL and complete the survey at: – or to email them to register objections to axing it.
