Streets are built for people

‘What will it take for drivers to compromise?’
• THE pro-driving lobby (What will it take for them to compromise? and Roads built for vehicles, Letters, March 4) is unwilling to accept facts.
The council has shown a commendable willingness to compromise on Blue Badges, and there is also absolutely no evidence at all that residents have to wait longer for emergency services.
Countering the assertion that roads are built for vehicles, streets are surely built for people. Yet streets are dominated by a minority, drivers.
The real question is surely what will it take for drivers to compromise? They seem unwilling to do so.
Well done therefore to the council for using People Friendly Streets to balance the needs of everyone, not just drivers.
