Mikel Arteta demanding more from his players, as seen in All Or Nothing
GRAHAM Potter may be wishing he was back at the seaside after another disastrous weekend for Chelsea.
But the Stamford Bridge boss, who saw his team fold limply in a London derby with Spurs on Sunday, believes he is still the right man for the job and says he’s been watching a documentary about Arsenal as a guide.
Thousands of disgruntled Chelsea fans unhappy at watching their team struggling in tenth place despite being the biggest spenders in the transfer market have signed a petition calling on Potter to be sacked.
But the man who was lured to the club from Brighton, where he had been performing heroics with a much more modest budget, said: “You can’t stop the questions and while the results are like they are, I accept them. It’s part of the job.
“We were talking before the game about watching All or Nothing and Arsenal, two years into Mikel’s reign he’s close to getting the sack and people are wanting him out and it’s a disaster. And now things have changed a little bit, and that’s just the way it is.”
He added: “If you look at Jurgen’s situation [Klopp at Liverpool], they haven’t got results and all of a sudden people want him out, that’s just the nature of football.
“Obviously I haven’t done enough at this club to have too much good faith, and I also accept that.”

The decision to allow the cameras to film behind the scenes at Arsenal has proved to be a masterstroke in improving the relationship between the club and the fans – just after protests over the ownership.
Arteta was shown bursting with passion, even if some idiosyncrasies were revealed, including playing Liverpool’s You’ll Never Walk Alone anthem on the training pitch before a game at Anfield.
The documentary also showed the breakdown between the Arsenal manager and the player who had been Arsenal’s most prized asset, goal ace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The striker was frozen out and ended up leaving for Barcelona after making his own way to Spain on transfer deadline day. Arsenal were left short up front and failed to secure a top-floor finish despite being well-placed.
Now Aubameyang is at Chelsea but is also failing to convince Potter that he is the answer in attack and, despite being used as a sub in the loss to Spurs, is not in his Champions League squad.
