Taking the children to the park left me angry at these selfish people

• I AM really annoyed now. Every day I put my life and my family in the line of danger as I am a social worker dealing with hospital discharges.
So this week I experienced the most incredible sense of class/ right-to-family-life attack.
My children, who are aged two and six, and my sister’s son, who is autistic, went for a walk to our local park.
By the way, we all live with my mum, who is at highest risk group due to lung cancer and numerous other illnesses, to get some sense of wellbeing for our mental health as a family – not including mum, she is stuck in a small room isolating in our home.
But because my two- and six-year-old girls and autistic nephew had rolled in dogs’ poo in the days before, and the risk of blindness and hospitalisation during the covid-19 crisis was evident and a stark and scary fact, we decided to put the kids in a protected area of the park where the grass is growing.
I might add that there is no other reason for the area to be sealed (in Spa Fields, to be exact).
We hoped the kids would have a run, but two men and a dog shouted and started attempting to shame us, saying that we were breaking the social distancing rules.
When I tried to explain our situation and reasoning (I did get annoyed as well so shouted back). It ended up with my daughters in tears.
Having attempted to ask the men to go away (they did not) we left. But the dog and men kept walking and basically said “let the kids roll in poo”.
Now I want to try to raise awareness among people while asking “what laws or powers do we have to the right to have protection from dog poo and selfish people, and illnessness, in the midst of a coronavirus pandemic”?
And how do we protect our the wellbeing of our families? I know that we kept to the social distancing rules. I am so annoyed.
