A 15-YEAR-OLD girl has appeared in court charged with assault and possession of an offensive weapon following a fight in Finsbury in January.

The teenager appeared in custody at Highbury Youth Court on Friday following an investigation into footage circulating on social media showing two girls fighting. One appears to be taking a knife from her pocket during the incident.

Police have established that the fight happened in Owen Street. The teenager was arrested last Wednesday. The police investigation continues.
