TOWN Hall chiefs have started publishing fire risk assessments of estates online in response to calls made in the wake of the Grenfell Tower disaster.
Reports detailing fire risks at council-owned blocks higher than 10 storeys went online this week, with those for blocks between six and nine storeys high due to be on view by the end of the year.
Housing chief Councillor Diarmaid Ward said: “People are most concerned about taller buildings, that’s why we started with this.”
Recent inspections found one “intolerable” case, Ilford House on the Dover Court estate, in Canonbury, where there was an issue with gas barbecues, since removed.
Green councillor Caroline Russell said: “I’m delighted he’s gone ahead with publishing fire risk assessments, something I called for.”
