• THAMES Water has been ruining the lives of local people for months now, as its works creep gradually down from the north of Hornsey Road towards Seven Sisters.

The traffic jams are dreadful, with the complete disappearance of any safe crossing points across the main road for children going to school, cyclists crashing into each other and also riding on the pavements – and noise, and fumes, and angry drivers hooting pointlessly.

People living in side roads like mine (Thorpedale) have to put up with large volumes of traffic trying to cut through to avoid the works, but getting jammed, revving, idling, hooting and manoeuvring.

It is impossible to contact Thames Water, you can only report leakages on their website. They provide no information (or apology) to residents.

How about a reduction in our water charges for six months? Their profits can surely manage that.
