The Highbury Corner redesign has been a disaster

‘Those responsible for the planning, design and implementation should hang their heads in shame’
• WHILE travelling on a barely moving No 30 bus from the Angel to St Paul’s Road, I was reminded of what a disaster the redesigned Highbury Corner is.
The traffic on Upper Street, including buses, is often at a standstill from the town hall to Highbury Corner, and likewise from the Alwyn Castle to Highbury Corner on St Paul’s Road.
There are expensively designed cycle lanes which are rarely used, while the concourse instead serves as a racetrack for inconsiderate and often reckless cyclists. And don’t get me started about the cyclists on pavements and pedestrian crossings (see above).
All those who were responsible for the planning, design and implementation should hang their heads in shame.
