• IN response to Ann Eliot (Our right to protest at hospital, May 28), our priority at all times is the safety and welfare of our patients and colleagues.

Our security team are briefed to move anyone protesting or gathering at the entrance of our hospital onto the street so that it is not blocked for anyone needing to enter.

Although we acknowledge that this particular protest was small and respected social distancing, we carried out the same actions and procedures that we would for any group gathering.

We are also pleased to confirm that we have sufficient stocks for PPE and we continue to monitor stock levels daily to ensure that our staff and patients are safe.
