The IHRA definition is about Israel not actually about anti-Semitism
Thursday, 6th September 2018
• I WAS puzzled by Phil Rosenberg’s letter, (Momentum should side with the Jews over the racists, August 30). What puzzles me is who he thinks he can fool?
Surely everyone who is interested realises that the dispute in the Labour Party over the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance definition of anti-Semitism is not actually about anti-Semitism but about Israel.
The items that had not been accepted refer solely to what can and can’t be said by Labour Party members about Israel, and are clearly designed to outlaw all radical criticism of Israel and the Zionist project.
Comrade Rosenberg’s letter can only be understood on the basis that by “racist” he means regarding the Palestinians as human beings with human rights.
