• ISLINGTON’S people-friendly-streets plan for Highbury West and Highbury Fields will be implemented January 11.

The plan is outstanding and, given time to bed down, will be a huge improvement for all members of the community.

Inevitably there will be some who will vociferously object in the short-term without realising the longer-term benefits for the wider community.

It might be useful therefore to have details of the plan spelled out before it’s implemented in order that something approaching a rational and informed debate can take place once the plan is implemented.
