• IN relation to the article, Mum issues knife crime challenge (February 15), I am said “mum”.

I have a few points I would like to clarify as I felt that the depiction of both me and my work is at odds with who I am and what my registered charity, London Village Network, is striving to achieve.

As an agent for social change and a tech entrepreneur, I found the term “mum” demeaning; my role was not reflected in the article.

The article did not highlight the purpose of my meeting the journalist, which was to discuss an important event we are hosting with support from Arsenal in the Community on Friday, March 1, at the Business Design Centre.

The event is to celebrate the “Power of Giving an Hour”. At LVN we provide support for young people suffering from network poverty. We offer positive pathways and access to networks usually only afforded to more privileged families.

We rely on people giving just one hour of their time to support local youth. To make giving time easy I have developed a unique volunteering and signposting app.

We want the community to come together on March 1 and, crucially, to register to give an hour on our app. If any readers are interested in taking part we would love them to come along.

Finally, I would like to record that the statements made about my children were inaccurate.
