• WHY did we lose in the final?

I blame William and Kate – don’t forget Kate our precious role-model of womanhood – for the Lionesses’ loss in Sydney.

Our “girls” would have been so inspired by the presence of our future king and queen that they would undoubtedly have beaten those Spaniards.

As it was, their disappointment and feelings of being slighted led to a lacklustre performance and the missing of what chances came their way.

By contrast, the presence of the Spanish Queen Letizia surely guided the boot of Olga Carmona to score the winning goal.

I mean, what is royalty for, if not to ignore carbon footprints in pursuit of glory for the country?
