The Stuart Low Trust has a new home and opportunities
Friday, 21st October 2022
• THE Stuart Low Trust (SLT) has been an active charity in Islington since 1999.
SLT has served residents in the borough and nearby extremely well, winning awards for our support to those experiencing mental health issues and social isolation.
Everyone is welcome. We offer life-saving help by connecting people together through supportive, enjoyable activities. We run activities on evenings and weekends, a particularly lonely time for many.
This is a fantastic time for us to be recruiting a new chair. The good news is the end of Covid-19 restrictions coincides with SLT’s move to new premises, where we relaunched our flagship Friday Evening Events, running all year round.
It’s great to be back face-to-face. The venue is the newly refurbished Jean Stokes Centre, Carnoustie Drive, N1 0DX. It’s just off Caledonian Road.
We are also now able to relaunch other face-to-face activities. These include mental health and physical wellbeing sessions, a philosophy group, a choir, art sessions, nature events, outings, and more.
If you want to be involved as a participant or a volunteer, you’ll be all too welcome. You can find information about what we offer at www.slt.org.uk
At this important moment we are also looking for someone with the capability and confidence to become our new chair of the board of trustees, as our current chair needs to step down at the end of the year.
It’s an exciting time to come on board, as SLT is planning partnerships with other organisations to reach more people who need us most.
If you’re interested in this role, you can find more information from Reach who are helping us recruit: https://reachvolunteering.org.uk/opp/chair-board-trustees-166
I am the new chief executive at SLT and have been inspired by the range and quality of activities offered by a highly dedicated and expert staff team, assisted by wonderful volunteers.
Join us to guide SLT to even greater success!
