Alan Frederick Smith

• LIKE John Gulliver, it was at a Hampstead festival that I discovered the poetry of Alan Frederick Smith, (Teacher gifted with a poet’s unerring insight on life, July 9).

A talented bard with a style well suited to the subject treated. It’s sad to lose a poet, but the verses live for ever.
