This advice for cyclists is woeful

Islington Life article failed to say that cycling on the pavement is nearly always illegal
• IN the spring edition of Islington Life, I noticed the article titled “Top tips: cycling safely”.
I looked in vain for any mention of wearing a helmet, using front and back lights when riding between dusk and dawn, or wearing light-coloured and or reflective clothing.
Instead, after mentioning locks, servicing and registering your bike, it concluded with: “Use cycle lanes: cycling on the pavement can be dangerous…”. It failed to say that cycling on the pavement is nearly always illegal.
For a magazine published by the council, each of these omissions is regrettable, but their collective omission is woeful. How did this article ever receive approval?
