Times change and sadly it would appear so do values

• THREE former members of the cabinet went to Downing Street for an early-morning meeting with Theresa May. They did so to press the case for a “sensible” Brexit.

Of these three former cabinet members, one had taken the hump and resigned. The other two resigned after, it would appear, they had misled Parliament. In earlier times such a meeting might never have taken place.

MP, minister and D-Day veteran John Profumo resigned from office and his seat in Parliament after it had been shown he had misled Parliament.

It was about honour. He remained silent on the matter for the rest of his life, which he devoted selflessly to the benefit of those less fortunate than himself. Times change and sadly it would appear so do values.
