• LIVING adjacent to Tufnell Park, I am concerned to hear of plans by Islington Council to pollute a much-loved grass playing fields with millions of plastic strands.

Ironically an individual, who I understand leads football groups there, recently confirmed that children playing on the fields will be encouraged to avoid single-use plastic water bottles.

Perhaps he should lead by example. Would he like nine tonnes of toxic material injected in his back garden?
