• I KNEW Tony Eastlake since he worked with George on that flower stall as a young boy, (Tony Eastlake: Family pay tribute to Essex Road flower seller after stab murder, May 30).

He was a most sweet and gentle, kind, man. I moved away from Islington 19 years ago, so didn’t have that much contact with him, but occasionally did when I went back to visit family.

My sincere condolences to his family on their very sad and tragic loss.
