Traffic problems have worsened

Highbury Corner
• WHILE accepting some of the principles of LTNs, low traffic neighbourhoods, and the need to help our environment, Islington Council has compounded the traffic problem with major and lengthy road works on Holloway, Seven Sisters and now St Paul’s Roads.
Bringing in the Highbury LTN has forced more traffic onto the surrounding main roads. How stupid then to add to the problem with current work on these three major thoroughfares.
All this on top of the nightmare of Highbury Corner. It is now taking at least 15 minutes for buses to come down Highbury Grove to Highbury Corner. One solution would be to “reopen” Drayton Park and maybe Aubert Park to traffic to alleviate matters.
I also know from personal experience of delivering food donations to people living in Queensland Road, near the Emirates stadium, that it now takes 20 to 25 minutes to drive there from the Elizabeth House charity centre off Blackstock Road – all thanks to a new and very uncharitable traffic scheme.
