Fredi Rivero
TRIBUTES have been paid to “beloved” 75-year-old Fredi Rivero a year after he was killed by three teenage girls in Seven Sisters Road.
Friends and family gathered at the Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, in Eden Grove, Holloway, last Saturday to celebrate Mr Rivero on the anniversary of his death.
His daughter – who has wished to withhold her name for fear of reprisals from Mr Rivero’s killers – told loved ones that their presence at the memorial “means more to our family than words can truly express”.

She added: “It’s hard to believe that a year has already passed since we said goodbye. My dad was more than just a dad – he was my friend, my constant companion and my greatest supporter. He taught me the value of gentleness, kindness, integrity and politeness.
“I am proud that my dad lived up those values – he is my hero.
“Some of you may know that my dad and I loved stargazing and, coincidently, tonight Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune will align and appear together in the night sky, creating a breathtaking celestial event, so do look up at the sky tonight and see beauty beyond this planet as we remember my dear dad Fredi.”
She also read a poem she had written in her father’s memory.
Mr Rivero’s killers – a 15-year-old girl and two 17-year-old girls – were sentenced to a combined 10 years after pleading guilty to the manslaughter last October.
