POLICE have launched an investigation after a 21-year-old man died following a stabbing in Tufnell Park.

Police found the victim just before 730pm yesterday (Monday) after they were called to reports of a fight on Tufnell Park Road.

Despite being rushed to hospital, he died in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

A man who witnessed the incident told the Tribune he saw a fight break out between the two young men, and saw the 21-year-old stabbed.

“I was coming home from my daughter’s house and I saw it,” he said. “I saw the ambulance guys working on him, and taking him away.”

He added: “It’s hard to think that this can happen on your doorstep. But, that’s London.”

Adam James, who lives in the Tufnell Park Estate, said: “It’s the sad world we live in that a 21-year-old has lost his life. If you go to anywhere in London this is happening left, right, and centre.”

Julie Morgan, another Tufnell Park Estate resident said that stabbings have gotten “out of control” and described the incident as “terrifying.”

“It just keeps getting worse and worse,” she said.

Shopkeepers along Tufnell Park Road said the victim was a regular customer who comes from a “very nice family.”

A cordon – stretching from the Odeon Cinema in Tufnell Park Road to the Tufnell Park Estate – remained in place this morning (Tuesday) as forensic teams worked to gather evidence. Flowers had already been placed at the cordon when the Tribune arrived.
