BBC broadcaster Huw Edwards has said he is “delighted” that funds have been raised for repairs to a Highbury church.

The Grade II-listed Christ Church in Highbury has received a £10,000 grant to help fund repairs to its stonework as part of the National Churches Trust Cornerstone Grant.

Mr Edwards said: “I’m delighted that Christ Church in Highbury is being helped with a £10,000 National Churches Trust Cornerstone Grant.

“The repairs to the stonework will help secure the future of a historic building and make sure it can continue to serve local people in many ways.”
