Vaccines do carry risk of injury

‘There must always be an informed choice for any medical intervention’
• YOUR most recent headline (Jabs record sparks virus deaths fear, July 2), was sensationalist and designed to strike fear.
Is this a prelude to mandating vaccination?
There are two reasons for low uptake, one already covered in the article – Camden’s transient populous.
The second is the fact that censorship of an inconvenient truth leads to mistrust. Vaccines do carry a risk of injury, as does any medical intervention.
All prescription medicines carry a leaflet insert, advising of possible side effects. We know the risks and make an informed choice.
No one ever has surgery without being told of the risks. There must always be an informed choice for any medical intervention.
Personal bodily sanctity must not be violated, nor fear used for compliance.
Disease and ill-health occur in overcrowded and inadequate living and working conditions. It is to these inequalities we must turn our energies and funding.
