Views are split by the gyratory system

• THE unintended consequences of the Highbury gyratory seem to be pitting Islington residents against each other to avoid the fall-out.

Liverpool Road is actually the B515 so hardly a back street. Yes people live all along it, so call it a residential road by all means but the same applies to St Paul’s Road and Holloway Road.

If the council were able effectively to stop all traffic displacement to neighbouring streets then the congestion at Highbury Corner would be even greater.

The increased pollution from exhaust gases would then spread over a wide area including Liverpool Road. What’s the answer? Abandon the infernal combustion engine and walk, cycle, or take the bus.
