Voting Corbyn will strengthen Labour

‘It would be a tragedy for all tenants if Jeremy Corbyn was not re-elected’
• GEORGE Jones (So who is going to be our next MP? April 1) has hit the nail right on the head.
People are being misled into thinking in order to defeat the Tories they must vote for the imposed Labour candidate against Jeremy Corbyn in Islington North in the next general election. This is a mistake.
Voting for Corbyn is not voting against Labour and will actually strengthen them after the next election.
In contrast to the undemocratic denial of the right to stand as Labour candidate Corbyn represents the very best of Labour, his record proves that, and he has consistently fought against the injustices of this and previous Tory governments.
The crucial issue in the forthcoming council elections is not LTNs, low traffic neighbourhoods, but housing.
Islington has more council housing than any other borough; property developers and landlord companies long to get their hands on this.
Islington’s Labour council and our two excellent MPs steadfastly defend council tenants against this, and use their powers to defend and help housing association tenants and those in the private rented sector.
Jeremy Corbyn and Emily Thornberry are prominent in that rapidly diminishing group of MPs who give a parliamentary voice to, and represent the interests of, council tenants.
It would be a tragedy for all tenants if Labour did not retain control of Islington Council and Jeremy Corbyn was not re-elected at the next election.
