Water pipe repairs in Pentonville Road

PENTONVILLE Road will be closed for six weeks while major works take place to upgrade water pipes.

Over the next three years Thames Water will be updating 1.2 miles of Victorian pipes stretching from King’s Cross to Angel that supply water to around 7,000 properties each day. Disruptions to traffic are expected while the £20million project is under way.

Pentonville Road West will be shut for six weeks from Monday.

Thames Water say the works will play a crucial role in reducing leaks and bursts across Islington’s streets.

Jaymin Patel, head of programme delivery at Thames Water, said: “We’re on a mission to drive down leakage, which is why we’re investing to upgrade our ageing Victorian pipes. The work on Pentonville Road is essential and will ensure we continue to deliver a safe and secure water supply to Londoners.”
