When Queen Elizabeth II came to visit Highbury

• WITH The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee upon us this is a good time to remember another, the Silver Jubilee, when Queen Elizabeth II came to visit Highbury.

In 1977 Her Majesty not only visited us, she left a mark on Highbury Fields. The path she walked on was previously unnamed but has ever since been called Queen’s Walk.

A good time to refurbish Queen’s Walk signs

Sadly the signs on the path are now scruffy and unloved, as can be seen in the photograph (above).

Perhaps this is a good moment to refurbish them or even replace them with signs that describe the origins of the name.
