A car parked for two days completely blocking the pavement

• LAST week we had a car parked for two days on the pavement in Camden Road, which is a red route. It was completely blocking the pavement.

I saw, among others, including pushchairs, two people in wheelchairs have to negotiate into the busy road to get round it.

It blocked the drive to two car parks, trapping us inside, but could anything be done? It seems not.

I called police but they said they cannot act as the vehicle was not stolen. The council will not act as the red route is not its responsibility. Transport for London was asked but declined to help.

What were we supposed to do? The owners were coming and going throughout this period.

A sympathetic lady at the council called police twice for me and eventually, after 36 hours, two police officers came and pushed it across the road into the bus stop opposite, where it remained for a further afternoon and night.

It seems as long as you aren’t on council-controlled land you can just leave your car where you like. Is this right?
